You can't miss our loop-front property conveniently located at 2200 W. Loop 281 across the street from the Super One grocery store. There are two main entrances from the loop. Look for our parking attendants at the main entrance and they will will direct you as you enter the parking lot. Hospitality greeters will meet you at any door to the building, give you a complimentary church bulletin, and direct you to the right classes or services. They can also answer other questions you may have.
Most adults choose to attend the main 11 a.m. service where they enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the choir, orchestra, ensembles, and soloists. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Bob Gray II. The 11:00 am service is a little over one hour in length. Of course, you are welcome to attend one of several adult Sunday school classes at 10 a.m.These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, enjoy perhaps some coffee and donuts, and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life-stage. The best way to get to know people at Longview Baptist Temple is to visit one of these adult Bible Sunday school classes.
Where do I take my children?
Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for children of every age. During every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children two years old and under. For the infants, mothers can request a pager so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. For children three years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. Hospitality greeters can direct you to the appropriate nursery or children’s classroom.
What about my teens?
Our teen Sunday school classes are broken down into three main divisions: junior high, high school, and College & Career. Most of the teens attend a class for one hour at 10 a.m. and then attend the main service at 11:00 a.m. with their parents.
How should I dress?
There is no strict dress code to attend our public services, but in case you're wondering, a majority of our church members wear their "Sunday best"—the men in a dress shirt and dress slacks, typically with a tie, and the women in modest dress.
